Meet and Greet
Our Meet and Greet process is an important component of our safety protocols. We need to ensure your dog is a good fit with an open play environment. All daycare and boarding dogs have gone through the Meet and Greet process. Once your appointment is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with a link to your online dashboard. From there, you can complete registration, upload vaccination records, and review and sign our Pet Parent Agreement. Need help? We’re happy to call your vet to collect records on your behalf!

What to Expect on Meet and Greet Day
Bring your dog on a leash with a collar or harness when you arrive. One of our trained evaluators will spend 20–30 minutes getting to know your pup. While we assess your dog, feel free to ask questions, watch the playrooms live, and tour the facility. If your pup passes, they’re welcome to stay the rest of the day—on us!
Evaluation Includes
- Wellness check
- Response to staff interaction
- Comfort in a crate
- Reactions in open-play with other dogs
- General behavior observations (minimum 5-hour stay encouraged)
- Complementary day of play (if your pup passes the assessment)
Requirements
- Up-to-date on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella
- Puppies must be at least 12 weeks old and fully vaccinated
- Dogs 7+ months must be spayed or neutered
- Newly adopted adult dogs should be in their home for at least 30 days
- All new overnight boarding dogs must complete 3 daycare visits before their first overnight stay
At The Modern Dog, it’s all about creating a safe, welcoming space—for every pup and every parent.
